Job Description

The Katsina State Government invites applications from qualified FEMALE professionals for the position of State Project Coordinator under the Nigeria for Women Project (NFWP), a World Bank–supported initiative designed to improve women's livelihoods and income opportunities. This is a full-time position, renewable yearly based on performance. The State Project Coordinator will provide strategic leadership, oversee project implementation, and ensure alignment with national and state frameworks while coordinating activities across project LGAs.

Key Responsibilities

A. Strategic & Technical Leadership • Provide state-level direction for all project components • Ensure alignment with national and state frameworks • Oversee Women Affinity Group (WAG) establishment and sustainability B. Project Planning & Implementation • Lead annual work planning, budgeting, and procurement • Coordinate implementation across project LGAs • Ensure compliance with World Bank guidelines C. Team Supervision & Coordination • Supervise project officers, M&E team, finance and procurement officers, and LGA facilitators • Ensure timely delivery of project milestones D. Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting • Lead data collection, verification, and reporting • Prepare quarterly and annual results reports • Document lessons learned E. Financial Management & Compliance • Ensure proper use of project funds • Coordinate financial reporting and support audits F. Safeguards & Risk Management • Ensure compliance with GBV/SEA/SH prevention standards • Monitor project risks and develop mitigation strategies G. Stakeholder Engagement • Engage MDAs, LGAs, CSOs, traditional leaders, and community groups • Lead advocacy and communication efforts

Required Qualifications

A. Academic Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Development Studies, Sociology, Gender Studies, Project Management, Public Administration, or related field • Master's degree is an added advantage B. Experience Requirements • Minimum 7–10 years of experience in women empowerment, community development, or donor-funded projects • Experience coordinating multi-LGA projects • Experience with World Bank or UN projects is an advantage C. Skills & Competencies • Strong leadership and project management skills • Strong financial and procurement understanding • Good M&E experience • Excellent communication skills in English and Hausa • Strong digital skills D. Behavioural Qualities • Integrity, accountability, and confidentiality • Emotional intelligence and flexibility • Ability to work under pressure

Experience Requirements

IMPORTANT: This position is open to FEMALE applicants only (Mandatory requirement). Candidates must have: • Minimum 7–10 years of professional experience in women empowerment, community development, or donor-funded projects • Proven track record in project coordination and management • Experience working with multiple stakeholders including government agencies, NGOs, and community organizations • Demonstrable experience in budget management and procurement processes • Strong monitoring and evaluation capabilities
