Dr. Mustapha Shehu

Dr. Mustapha Shehu is a seasoned development expert from Katsina State, Nigeria, with over 18 years of experience in education sector planning, implementation, and donor coordination. He currently serves as the State Project Coordinator of the Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) in Katsina State, where he oversees project planning, infrastructure development, community engagement, and skills acquisition programs for adolescent girls. Under his leadership, AGILE has disbursed over ₦1.5 billion in Mega-Grants to improve facilities in pilot schools and has extended support to over 300 schools. He has led widespread sensitization campaigns, holding over 170 stakeholder town halls and engaging traditional leaders, including the Emir of Katsina, to secure institutional support. In addition to his AGILE role, Dr. Shehu is the Executive Secretary of the Katsina State Development Management Board, where he coordinates all donor-funded projects across the state. He is known for his strong advocacy for youth empowerment, digital learning, and gender equity, having facilitated training for thousands of teachers and students in areas such as digital skills, first aid, personal hygiene, and gender-based violence prevention. His leadership reflects a strong commitment to data-driven development, inclusive education, and sustainable community impact in Northern Nigeria.
